Role Overview
The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team seeks a skilled Delivery Consultant to join us in South Africa. You will work closely with customers to design, implement, and manage AWS solutions aligning with their technical needs and business goals. Your role involves driving customer success through their cloud journey by providing technical expertise and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
As a Delivery Consultant, you will have a deep understanding of AWS products and services, architect complex, scalable, and secure solutions tailored to customer needs. You will collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, assess current infrastructure, and propose migration strategies to AWS. You will also guide customers on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions, leading implementation, ensuring best practices, optimizing performance, and managing risks.
Focus Area
This role emphasizes advising customers on enhancing their business or operational outcomes through Data and Analytics on AWS. Responsibilities include architecture advising, project leadership, stakeholder management, conducting workshops, and implementing complex Data workloads with customers and partners.
Key Responsibilities
1. Advise customers' technologists and business leads on Data and Analytics solutions to deliver business value effectively.
2. Discuss industry-specific business concepts, especially in FSI, Mining, and Retail sectors.
3. Lead large, complex customer engagements from pre-sales to delivery, including architecture design, scoping, development, testing, and deployment.
4. Conduct workshops to identify opportunities for delivering business value through Data and Analytics on AWS.

Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
* At least 3 years of experience in cloud architecture, designing, and implementing cloud solutions.
* Hands-on experience with scalable data pipelines, data transformations, Apache Spark API, and SparkSQL.
* Strong programming skills in Python and Scala.
* Over 5 years of experience with customer interaction in Data and Analytics solution design, architecture, and implementation.
* Strategic thinking about business, solutions, and technical challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
* 3+ years of technical experience, knowledge of AWS Data Technology stack, and integration with Machine Learning and Generative AI.
* Industry experience in Financial Sector, Telecom, Mining, and Retail.
* AWS certifications, including solutions architect or DevOps engineer professional levels.
* Understanding of cloud computing technologies and workload transition challenges.
* Deep knowledge of AWS services across compute, storage, networking, security, databases, ML, and serverless tech.
* Knowledge of security and compliance standards like HIPAA and GDPR.
