Dublin Central Mission is creating a relief panel for Catering Assistants who would like to work on a casual basis. These roles will be for the purpose of covering leave on an ad hoc basis.
Overview of the role
· To assist with the preparation of meals and snacks for the residents within the guidelines laid down by the Environmental Health Service (EHS) and Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA).
Eligibility Criteria
o Food Safety Training Level 1
o Previous experience of working in a professional kitchen.
o Working as part of a team.
Overview of the role
o Washing up of all items used in the kitchen area and maintaining cooking and storage areas in a clean and tidy state in line with cleaning schedules.
o Carry out any general dining room duties i.e. laying, cleaning tables etc.
o Transporting meals to other specified locations as required.
o Simple preparation of food as required by the Chef.
o To undertake such other duties as may be determined from time to time within the general scope of the position.
o Attend training courses as required.
o Attendance at staff and department meetings.
Raise any health and safety issues to the Head Chef promptly
