Mayo is seeking to appoint a dynamic and experienced Consultant Cardiologist with a subspecialty in Interventional Cardiology. This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive, patient-focused cardiology team delivering high-quality, evidence-based care within a leading Irish healthcare facility. The successful applicant will play a key role in providing interventional cardiology services, including invasive coronary diagnostics and procedures, and will contribute to the ongoing development of our acute and elective cardiac care services.Key Responsibilities:Provide expert clinical care in all aspects of general cardiology with a particular focus on interventional cardiology, including coronary angiography, PCI, and related procedures.Participate in the hospital's 24/7 primary PCI service, including on-call rota.Contribute to the assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with a wide range of cardiovascular conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care, including participation in MDT meetings.Provide leadership in service development initiatives within the interventional cardiology unit.Teach, mentor, and supervise non-consultant hospital doctors (NCHDs), medical students, and allied health professionals.Participate in clinical governance, audit, research, and continuous quality improvement activities.Essential Qualifications and RequirementsMedical degree and completion of Higher Specialist Training (HST) in Cardiology.Fully registered on the Specialist Division of the Irish Medical Council (IMC) in Cardiology.Fellowship or substantial training in Interventional Cardiology, including independent practice in diagnostic and therapeutic coronary procedures.Demonstrated clinical competence and leadership in a hospital setting.Extensive experience as a Consultant Cardiologist in a clinical settingExcellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.Desirable AttributesExperience with structural heart interventions or advanced coronary imaging (IVUS/OCT) is advantageous.Active involvement in clinical research and/or academic teaching.Proven track record in service development or quality improvement.Familiarity with national cardiac care guidelines and participation in national cardiac registries.We OfferAccess to modern cardiac catheterisation laboratory facilities.Opportunities for professional development, teaching, and research.Supportive working environment within a multidisciplinary team.Participation in national cardiac care programmes and strategic initiatives.Application Process: Interested candidates should submit a CV and cover letter to.
