About Diverse Minds Practice
Diverse Minds Practice is a psychology-led, multidisciplinary service dedicated to supporting neurodivergent individuals. Our team includes psychologists, assistant psychologists, psychotherapists, speech and language therapist, and occupational therapist. We pride ourselves on providing affirming, evidence-based psychological support that recognises and celebrates neurodiversity.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly qualified psychotherapist to join our team on a contract basis. This role is dedicated to providing therapeutic support to neurodivergent children and adolescents, including those with ADHD, who are Autistic and other neurodevelopmental differences.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively within our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, neurodiversity-affirming therapy that empowers young clients to thrive.
Essential Requirements
Qualifications & Accreditation
* Accreditation with a recognised psychotherapy body (e.g., IACP, ICP, IAHIP, or equivalent)
* Current professional indemnity insurance
* Eligible for Garda vetting
Experience & Training (Essential - Non-Negotiable)
* Extensive experience working therapeutically with neurodivergent children and adolescents
* Formal training in neurodivergence and neurodevelopmental conditions (evidence of CPD, specialist courses, or postgraduate qualifications required)
* Demonstrated understanding of neurodiversity-affirming practice
* Experience adapting therapeutic approaches to meet the needs of neurodivergent young people

Skills & Attributes
* Strong understanding of Autism, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental profiles in children and adolescents
* Ability to work with diverse presentations, including co-occurring mental health conditions
* Excellent communication skills with young people and their families
* Ability to adapt communication styles to suit developmental levels
* Commitment to ongoing professional development in neurodiversity
* Collaborative approach and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
* Flexibility and creativity in therapeutic delivery
Working Arrangements
* Ability to provide both in-person and online therapy (in-person delivery preferred as primary mode)
* Comfortable working with children, adolescents, and their families/systems
Desirable Experience
* Experience with PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) profile
* Knowledge of sensory processing differences and trauma-informed approaches
* Experience working with schools and educational settings
* Play-based or creative therapeutic approaches
Key Responsibilities
* Provide individual psychotherapy to neurodivergent children and adolescents (approximately 10-12 clients per week)
* Develop and implement personalised, neurodiversity-affirming treatment plans
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical notes (prompt documentation required)
* Attend mandatory peer supervision sessions
* Attend individual supervision with a senior staff member
* Participate in regular MDT meetings
* Liaise with families, schools, and other professionals as necessary/required
* Work collaboratively with the system around the client when appropriate
* Engage in ongoing professional development related to neurodiversity
Contract Terms
* Contract Type: Self-employed contractor
* Hours: Flexible (approximately 10-12 client contact hours per week)
* Rate: Commensurate with level of experience
* Probation Period: 3-month initial probationary period
* Therapeutic Approach: Open to all modalities - neurodiversity-affirming practice is essential

* Proof of current professional indemnity insurance
* Evidence of accreditation with recognised psychotherapy body
* Evidence of specialist training in neurodivergence
