Operations Manager

We are currently recruiting an experienced Operations Manager for a well-established client operating in the ready-mix concrete and construction materials sector.
The business supplies concrete, precast products, and associated services to agricultural, commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects across multiple locations.
The Role
This is a senior, hands-on operational leadership role with responsibility for production, logistics, health & safety, quality, and people management.
The Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day plant and site operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant delivery while driving performance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations across ready-mix concrete production, precast manufacturing, and delivery logistics
Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet customer demand, project timelines, and site requirements
Take full ownership of Health & Safety, ensuring compliance with Irish and EU regulations, leading audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
Drive a strong safety culture through training, toolbox talks, and continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure consistent product quality and compliance with industry standards and internal quality controls
Manage and develop operational teams including plant operatives, drivers, supervisors, and support staff
Optimise plant performance, fleet utilisation, delivery routes, and operational costs
Liaise with senior management, customers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth delivery of projects
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reliability, and service levels
Candidate Profile
Proven experience in an Operations Manager / Senior Operations / Production Manager role
Background in ready-mix concrete, construction materials, quarrying, or heavy manufacturing
Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and operational compliance
Experienced people manager with a practical, hands-on leadership style
Commercially aware with strong problem-solving capability
