Are you passionate about protecting the environment and ensuring sustainable waste management? Do you thrive in investigative, hands-on roles where your work has a direct impact on communities and compliance standards? If so, Amtivo Group has an exciting opportunity for you to join our dynamic team as an Environmental Compliance Officer – Waste Enforcement.

About Us

At Amtivo Group, we're more than just a global provider of Certification, Inspection, and Training services. With a presence in over 40 countries, our mission is to empower organisations to reach their full potential—by turning governance, compliance, and inspection into positive, value-driven experiences.

Our vision is ambitious, our standards are high, and our people are at the heart of everything we do. Join us, and you'll become part of an organisation that values innovation, collaboration, and integrity.

The Role

As an Environmental Compliance Officer, you'll play a vital role in safeguarding our environment and ensuring compliance with waste management legislation. This is an investigative and operational role where no two days are the same—you'll be conducting inspections, gathering intelligence, carrying out audits, and building strong partnerships with enforcement agencies.

You'll be the face of compliance, ensuring high standards are met, tackling illegal waste activities, and contributing to a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future.

Key Responsibilities:

· Investigate and report on illegal waste activity.

· Inspect and audit waste producers, facilities, collection permit holders, and waste in transit.

· Collect, manage, and interpret data on waste activities.

· Conduct surveillance (overt and covert) when required.

· Prepare detailed reports, record findings, and update case management systems.

· Give evidence in court proceedings where necessary.

· Collaborate with enforcement partners including Local Authorities, the Environmental Protection Agency, An Garda Síochána, and Customs & Revenue Service.

What We're Looking For

You'll bring a blend of technical expertise, investigative skills, and strong communication abilities. Ideally, you have:

· A degree in Environmental Sciences (or equivalent NVQ Level 8 qualification).

· OR at least 10 years' experience in investigations, enforcement, compliance assistance, and court representation.

· A full, clean driver's licence (Category B minimum).

· Strong analytical, organisational, and reporting skills.

· Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

· A collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently when required.

Why Join Us?

At Amtivo, you'll be part of a forward-thinking, supportive, and inclusive team where your contributions matter. We offer:

· Competitive salary and discretionary bonus scheme

· 24 days annual leave plus public holidays

· Hybrid working model with remote flexibility (business needs dependent)

· Comprehensive pension scheme (including death in service, income protection and defined contributions)

· Employee Assistance Programme (wellbeing support)

· Sick pay, bike-to-work and refer-a-friend schemes

· Professional skills development and career growth opportunities

· A collaborative culture that values innovation and continuous improvement

Please note: Amtivo does not accept unsolicited CVs from external agencies. All recruitment is managed by our internal Talent Team.
