Baileys is one of the top five global giants within the Diageo portfolio representing the lion’s share of the Liqueur’s category globally. In 2016, the brand was repositioned as an adult treat due to its product truth (part booze, part cake, pure pleasure) and this strategic shift has been transformational in unlocking new value pools to source growth from.
About the Role
Indulge in a truly global role that collaborates with every Diageo region & all parts of the business. Baileys is recruiting an experienced, creative innovator to lead our global innovation agenda. This is a key leadership role on a multi-market team that will be instrumental in delivering 9% of our trademark performance to fulfil our F30 growth ambitions. Crafting and delivering a stretching innovation pipeline will be essential, one that embraces our strategy of leading within the adult treat category. Reporting directly to the Baileys Global Brand Director this is a key leadership role on one of Diageo’s priority brands, with real scope to craft the future of its success.
Core Responsibilities
* Lead the global strategy for Baileys innovation, based on a deep understanding of our brand architecture, positioning, consumer behaviour and occasion understanding.
* Deliver on our ambition to grow innovation to 9% of TM by F30 by crafting a stretching pipeline of innovation that drives excitement and fuels incrementality.
* Decide & implement a daring pipeline of innovations, in deep partnership with markets, regional innovation teams, Diageo supply and external co-branded opportunities.
* Codify and share best practice, driving and facilitating the roll‑out of confirmed propositions globally.
* Play a leadership role across senior collaborators in influencing and aligning against desired outcomes.
* Ensure innovation across markets is playing a leading role in delivering our daring sustainability goals.
About You
* Has demonstrated strong ability to lead innovations from concept to reality
* Solid grounding in marketing with shown sound strategic judgement and ability to translate strategy into action
* Commercial & project management experience, to ensure that recommended plans can be implemented successfully in market
* Shape the future: outstanding innovation judgement; energise and encourage others to deliver results
* Relationships: crafting truly collaborative partnerships across the business and externally. This role regularly interacts with Senior Stakeholders and requires the ability to build trust and respect through open and transparent relationships.
* Delivering performance – knowing when and where to intervene, delivering with speed and a dedication to outstanding delivery of results.
* Strategy: proven strategic skill, demonstrated ability to translate strategy to action in a matrix structure
