**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly skilled Equipment Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As an RME Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform proactive maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures
* Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse environment
* Utilize advanced tools and technologies to maximize equipment effectiveness
* Maintain high standards of health and safety in all work activities
* Support the development and progression of on-site apprentices
* Contribute to continuous improvement projects and best practice sharing across sites
A Day in the Life:
As an Equipment Maintenance Specialist, you will be based on-site, enabling rapid response to machinery issues. You will perform a range of planned preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment is working safely and efficiently.
You will also respond promptly to breakdowns, investigating and implementing solutions quickly. Additionally, you will identify opportunities for long-term improvements and collaborate with senior colleagues to achieve them.
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Reliability Maintenance Engineering team, where you will work alongside experienced leaders and excellent team players. Our team maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs equipment across our global network of fulfillment centers.
We handle most aspects of Amazon's technical side, including maintaining buildings to legal standards, ensuring everyone's safety, and optimizing site operations for maximum efficiency.
This role offers opportunities for growth and development within the RME team and more broadly across Amazon. We prioritize reducing downtime in our operations sites to deliver timely customer orders.
Requirements:
1. NFQ6 (Higher Certificate or Advanced Certificate in Engineering) or equivalent qualification
2. Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems
3. Fault finding experience within MHE/Automation systems
4. Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
5. Experience of conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters
Preferred Qualifications:
* Apprentice-trained, HNC, HND, BSc, BEng qualifications
* High-voltage switching experience
* Sortation machine experience
* Maintenance/configuration experience of bar code scanners
* Print and apply machine experience
* Fault finding experience on building equipment (HVAC, Dock Doors, plumbing)
