Structural Engineer - Cork | Tier 1 M&E Contractor€65,000- €85,000 (doe) + BenefitsA leading Tier 1 M&E contractor is seeking a Structural Engineer to join their Cork Head Office. This role will support a range of large and small-scale projects, developing secondary steel design for MEP services and ensuring structural compliance from design through to construction. Travel to sites is required, with occasional rotation on European projects.Key Responsibilities:Develop secondary steelwork and support systems for MEP services.Complete preliminary designs, calculations, and design checks.Assess secondary steelwork loads against primary structural capacity.Support temporary works design and coordination with site teams and third-party designers.Liaise with Project Managers from design development to construction stages.Review construction drawings and identify design elements requiring further development.Coordinate with design teams to prioritise information in line with project schedules.Package design work for formal checking and ensure approvals are documented.Ensure all QA requirements relating to design are fulfilled.Assist in setting design responsibilities for subcontractors and carry out required checks.Attend internal reviews, site meetings, planning, engineering, and handover meetings.Provide monthly reports on design progress and close out project design items on time.Verify builder's works do not compromise primary structure and escalate where required.Key Requirements:Degree in Structural Engineering or equivalentMinimum 3 years' design experienceExperience in secondary steel and support systems for MEP servicesStrong understanding of structural detailing, calculations, and temporary worksExperience in steelwork, prefabrication, or modularisationWhat's offered:Career progression, structured development, a strong wellbeing framework, sustainability-focused working environment, and a competitive benefits package.
