A long-established and reputable construction company with over 40 years of industry experience is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join its expanding team. In addition to general contracting, the company operates a specialist civil engineering division providing services to clients in the public and private sector.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost planning and control across a variety of construction projects. This is a great opportunity to work on diverse and technically interesting projects while contributing to the financial success and operational efficiency of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage budgets, cost plans, and tender documentation
- Conduct cost analysis and value engineering
- Monitor project financial performance and prepare reports
- Manage procurement and assess subcontractor quotations
- Administer contracts and handle variations and claims
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams
- Support project delivery across multiple sectors and locations
Requirements:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and procurement
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Proficiency in cost management software (e.g., CostX, Buildsoft, Excel)
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites
