Technical Lead Opportunity
We are seeking an exceptional individual to fill a highly technical lead role in our Dublin-based team. As a Technical Lead, you will play a key part in the delivery of a critical project and work closely with cross-functional teams to drive success.
About the Role:
This is an outstanding opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project that has significant impact on people's lives. You will be responsible for leading a scrum team within the Provider Tech space, working with a highly technical piece of architecture, and collaborating with internal IT specialists and strategic partners throughout the development life cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform all phases of software engineering, including requirements analysis, application design, code development, and testing.
* Design and implement performance and operational enhancements.
* Design and develop reusable components, patterns, and frameworks to enable team velocity.
* Review code and provide feedback relative to best practices and performance improvement.
* Conduct design and code reviews to ensure that developed code meets software engineering best practices and guidelines.
* Participate in Agile/Scrum methodology to deliver high-quality software releases.
* Work with a team of software engineers to deliver projects.
* Troubleshoot production support issues post-deployment and design solutions as required.
* Design, code, test, debug, and document software while enhancing existing components to meet business requirements.
* Work closely with architecture groups to drive software solutions.
* Contribute to the design and architecture of secure, scalable, and maintainable software and clearly articulate the implications of design/architectural decisions, issues, and plans to technology leadership.
* Collaborate on design with other team members and product owners, both inside and outside of the scrum team.
* Provide on-call support in rotation with the team for DevOps services for 24/7 mission-critical systems.
Requirements:
* Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
* Experience building backend services with Java using Spring Framework (Boot, Core, MVC), with Spring Boot preferred.
* Experience working with Docker or Kubernetes.
* Experience with messaging and stream processing on Kafka or similar messaging technologies.
* Relational database knowledge.
* Experience with cloud services, either AWS or GCP.
* Experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models.
* Experience building modular, testable, and reusable software.
* Experience building and integrating with internal and external RESTful services.
* Experience with DevOps toolsets such as Jenkins, Terraform, GitHub Actions, etc.
* Software development methodologies: Agile Scrum & Kanban.
* Familiarity with AI and Machine Learning concepts.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience developing production-grade applications in Spark.
* Experience developing analytics applications in Spark or similar.
* Strong programming skills in Scala or Python.
