Job Description: Financial Controller
My client, based in Central Dublin, is a multi-national company driving change in renewable energy deployment and the move to Net-zero. Its products focus on renewable energy integration and smart grid applications, with a reputation for reliable solutions.
They seek a Financial Controller to oversee financial management for their Irish and UK operations, including consolidation for monthly reporting to their parent company in Spain. Responsibilities include daily financial management, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, audits, internal controls, and regulatory compliance. Key tasks involve managing cash flow, WIP, salaries, debtors, creditors, revenue recognition, FX adjustments, and banking relationships in both UK and Ireland. The role requires a high achiever eager to contribute to the company's growth and add value across multiple areas. Reporting to the Managing Director in Ireland and Group CFO in Spain, the role involves regular travel to their UK office in Newcastle.
Responsibilities
1. Prepare and publish timely monthly consolidated accounts for UK and Ireland; coordinate regulatory reporting; oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
2. Lead the migration to a new SAP ERP system for UK and Irish operations.
3. Manage all accounting operations, including billing, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, cost and inventory accounting, WIP, and revenue recognition.
4. Coordinate and direct budgeting and financial forecasting; report variances.
5. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
6. Manage legal reporting requirements and tax filings.
7. Maintain internal controls through business processes and accounting policies.
8. Perform additional controller duties as necessary.
9. Handle HR responsibilities in both companies.
Requirements
1. Fully qualified accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
2. Experience in a similar role, with financial control across multiple companies.
3. Up-to-date knowledge of UK and Irish GAAP and IFRS.
4. Advanced Excel skills; experience in multi-currency environments.
5. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
6. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple activities.
7. Results-driven with a positive, proactive attitude.
