Job Title
A dynamic and experienced business analyst is needed to join a team in the finance sector. The role requires a motivated individual who has a proven track record for delivering within an agile environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work with product managers, software engineers, product owners, business teams, and technical teams to translate high-level business requirements into detailed user stories and functional specifications.
* Liaise with product owners, developers, and testers to ensure correct requirements, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
* Act as a scrum master during Agile ceremonies with product owners and business stakeholders.
* Support change requirements through accurate impact analysis and change specifications.
* Support the business analysis community of practice to enhance business analysis processes.
* Assist product owners in determining which business requirements can be automated and how they are integrated with other business and technical processes.
* Manage the end-to-end change process, including providing support for the implementation of new/changed systems to ensure outputs are delivered on time and to quality.
* Investigate and resolve user problems channeled via help desks or equivalent to minimize disruption to business activity, including Level 3 production break fix resolution issues.
* Mentor other business analysts to proactively share knowledge, expertise, and advice, providing knowledge transfer to IT groups.
* Participate in and lead client workshops and meetings.
* Manage large business and IT changes for key strategic priorities across multiple business entities and products.
* Cover or step in for the IT product manager when required, liaising with tribe leaders where applicable.
* Report out updates to senior management on key initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* 5+ years of experience in Waterfall and/or Agile-based development methodologies and experience integrating with external/third-party systems.
* Business analysis qualification and/or Scrum certification essential.
* Experience working in an Agile environment, including running KANBAN and Scrum boards.
* Experience in business analysis in a financial services environment or good knowledge of insurance business models and processes.
* Proven experience using BA skills and techniques to elicit required information and produce deliverables under tight deadlines.
* Strong negotiation skills: ability to find win-win solutions for both IT and business, as well as challenge status quo and ensure best possible long-term solution.
* Planning and organization: effective time management to prioritize and manage own tasks and workload in a fast-paced environment.
* Analytical thinking: ability to understand and analyze business requirements and needs of the product owner while translating these needs and requirements into IT solutions.
* Ability to work independently and take responsibility for delivery of customer requirements to ensure end-user requirements are met.
* Accountability: taking initiative and ownership to ensure delivery and actively seeking results and resolutions to meet needs.
