are working in partnership with a leading contractor within the civils and utilities sector to recruit a
HSEQ Advisor.
This HSEQ Advisor role is key to supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality systems across the business.
Working across both site and office environments, you will ensure compliance with legal and company standards while actively promoting a strong, practical HSEQ culture.
You'll work closely with management, site teams, and employees, providing hands-on support, guidance, and coaching to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality operations across multiple locations.
In your new role:
Advise management and employees on HSEQ legislation, best practice, and company procedures
Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
Assist in developing and reviewing method statements, risk assessments, and safe systems of work
Deliver HSEQ inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings
Monitor PPE compliance and safe working practices on site
Support the implementation and maintenance of environmental management systems
Monitor environmental performance including waste management, pollution prevention, and sustainability initiatives
Maintain waste logs and conduct environmental inspections
Support the Quality Management System, including internal audits and corrective/preventive actions
Ensure HSEQ documentation is current, controlled, and aligned with operational activities
Maintain HSEQ records, statistics, and reports to support compliance and performance monitoring
Assist with external audits, client requirements, and certification obligations
Promote a proactive HSEQ culture and encourage positive employee engagement
Identify improvement opportunities and support HSEQ initiatives across the organisation
Travel to company sites as required and support occasional out-of-hours work where necessary
What you will need to succeed:
Experience in a HSEQ or equivalent role
NEBOSH General Certificate
Working knowledge of safety regulations and standards
Knowledge of auditing, risk assessments, and incident management
IT and numeracy skills (MS Office)
Excellent communication and influencing skills, ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
Full driving licence
Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):
Higher level qualification in Health & Safety, Quality, or a related discipline
Experience working within construction, civils, or utilities environments
Knowledge of ISO standards and integrated management system auditing
Other relevant Health & Safety certifications
