The main duties of the Director of Governance will be:
Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and best practices.
Manage the induction process for new Board Members.
Act as the main contact with the charity regulator on governance issues.
Stay informed of legislative and regulatory changes.
Monitor compliance and provide guidance to the board.
Maintain and update compliance policies, ensuring effective communication.
Review and develop policies of The Haven Hub.
Coordinate with the Finance Director to ensure financial controls align with governance standards.
Establish and implement a Protected Disclosures process for raising concerns.
Develop an audit/investigation process for financial irregularities.
Review and suggest organizational structure or management changes as needed.
Assist in arranging supports and sub-committees.
Complete required training and report on role status at each board meeting.
Attend at least 70% of committee meetings.
