GEDONTM | Executive - The Quantity Surveying Recruitment Experts seeks an
Electrical Estimation Pre-Construction Engineer
to join the Dublin-based Estimation Division.
This newly created, strategic role acts as the technical specialist, supporting the Estimation Team during the tender process for major electrical projects across Ireland and Europe, with a strong focus on the data centre sector.
Key Responsibilities
Tender Review:
Analyze and review large-scale electrical technical documentation to ensure clarity and integrity of the scope.
Risk Identification:
Identify design flaws, coordination issues, or areas needing clarification (via RFIs), and provide structured technical summaries to support accurate costing.
Equipment Compliance:
Review specialist equipment, subcontractor, and supplier quotes to ensure technical compliance with specifications.
Supply Strategy:
Conduct technical comparisons of vendor proposals and manage exclusions or omissions before the final bid submission.
Content Development:
Support the drafting of the electrical sections of the bid, covering methodologies, risks, value engineering opportunities, procurement timelines, and technical schedules.
Post-Bid Phase:
Participate in clarification meetings and continue to support design coordination and cost updates during the early pre-construction phase until handover to the site team.
Site Inspections:
Conduct site surveys across Ireland and Europe to verify project scope during the estimation period.
What You'll Bring
Qualifications:
Third level Qualification in
Electrical Services Engineering
.
Proven Experience:
Minimum
7+ years
in an
Electrical contracting or consulting environment
, ideally with exposure to pre-construction roles.
Technical Acumen:
Experience interpreting and reviewing complex electrical tender designs, specifications, and technical documents.
Sector Knowledge:
Prior exposure to
data centre projects
is highly desirable.
Communication:
Strong organisational and communication skills with an ability to present technical information clearly.
IT Skills:
Excellent Microsoft Office skills – particularly Word and Excel.
Familiarity with platforms such as BIM 360, Procore, or Aconex is an advantage.
Flexibility:
Willingness to travel for site surveys in Ireland and mainland Europe as required.
