Job Purpose
The Sales Executive is responsible for generating new business and growing existing customer accounts across metrology, calibration, vision, and measurement services and/or equipment. The role focuses on building strong customer relationships, identifying sales opportunities, and converting leads into profitable, long-term contracts within technical and industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
* Identify and pursue new sales opportunities across calibration, measurement, vision, and metrology services and products
* Develop and manage a strong pipeline of prospects through outbound activity, referrals, and inbound enquiries
* Qualify leads and convert enquiries into orders through effective proposals, presentations, and follow-up
* Achieve and exceed individual sales targets and KPIs
Account Management
* Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers across industrial and regulated sectors
* Act as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts
* Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts
* Support contract renewals and customer retention initiatives
Customer Engagement & Technical Support
* Understand customer requirements and communicate them clearly to technical and operations teams
* Coordinate discussions between internal departments to ensure customer needs are fully met
* Present metrology and measurement solutions in a clear, customer-focused manner (technical training provided)
* Attend customer meetings, site visits, and industry events as required
Commercial & Administrative Support
* Prepare quotations, proposals, and tender responses in line with agreed pricing policies
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions and opportunities within the CRM system
* Support sales forecasting, reporting, and pipeline reviews
* Ensure compliance with internal procedures, quality standards, and commercial policies
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
* New business revenue generated
* Sales target achievement
* Pipeline value and conversion rates
* Customer retention and repeat business
* Accuracy and timeliness of CRM updates
Skills & Experience
Essential
* Previous experience in a sales, business development, or customer-facing role
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
* Organised, self-motivated, and target-driven approach
* Ability to build rapport and trust with customers
* Comfortable working in a technical, industrial, or engineering-led environment
Desirable
* Experience in metrology, calibration, instrumentation, vision systems, engineering, or technical services
* Exposure to regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, aerospace, or manufacturing
* Experience using CRM systems
* B2B and/or field sales experience
Qualifications
* Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in business, engineering, science, or a related discipline
* Full driving licence (if field-based role)
