Summary Of Role And Responsibilities
The Finance & Administration Assistant will support the Finance Officer (FO) in all finance and administration duties for the Good Shepherd Centre and Kilkenny Voluntary Housing Association. The role requires adherence to strict governance and financial standards, ensuring compliance in conjunction with the finance officer.

Responsibilities Of The Role
* Work within the policy frameworks of the partner organisations.
* Administer debtor and creditor accounts in collaboration with the FO.
* Support general administration across finance, property management, procurement, and financial reporting to statutory funders.
Main Duties
* Perform day-to-day bookkeeping, including weekly lodgements, payment analysis, petty cash, and invoicing.
* Conduct monthly bank reconciliations.
* Prepare profit and loss budgets for homelessness and housing divisions.
* Process weekly and monthly payroll.
* Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts and annual accounts for audit.
* Prepare financial reports for funders.
* Administer the group insurance policy.
* Develop and implement financial policies in consultation with management and the Finance Sub-Committee.
* Provide financial administration for events and fundraising activities.
* Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional integrity.
* Represent the organisation positively and professionally.
* Be flexible and adaptable to additional tasks as needed.
Terms
* One-year specified purpose contract.
* Six-month probation period.

* Occasional outside office hours work.
* Based in Kilkenny city-centre.
* Part-time, 25 hours/week with flexible options.

Person Specification
Candidates Should Have
* Accounting Technician qualification or Degree in Accountancy (Level 7).
* At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in the community/voluntary sector.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
* Proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks or similar software.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Full driving license and access to own vehicle (desirable).
