Our broad line of vascular devices—including vessel closure, endovascular, and coronary technologies—are used to treat vessel diseases of the heart, carotid arteries, and peripheral blood vessels. These diseases can lead to heart attack, stroke, critical limb ischemia, and other serious conditions.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The purpose of this role is to provide technical assistance to engineering to support manufacturing efforts by implementing corrective and preventative actions. The role involves assisting engineers in developing methods and procedures to control or improve manufacturing processes.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist engineering in providing manufacturing support by learning to analyze data, identify manufacturing issues and trends, train operators on basic processes and engineering changes, and perform operator certification, on-the-job training, and testing.
2. Identify manufacturing issues by working with engineering to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventative actions.
3. Learn processes to disposition non-conforming material using quality tools and develop knowledge of manufacturing practices and procedures.
4. Help develop and implement process improvements by assisting engineering in researching and validating changes to processes and equipment, and testing methods to improve yield and reduce cycle time.
5. Support engineering in process development during new product introduction by providing input on traceability and inspection requirements, developing manufacturing instructions, and creating training materials and certifications.
6. Assist engineering with qualification and validation studies by collecting, compiling, measuring, organizing, and recording data, and writing procedures. Maintain lab notebooks as needed.
EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES
* National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) level 6 qualification in a relevant discipline, with 2+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Broad knowledge of technical concepts, systems, and product fundamentals. Ability to utilize numerical and statistical data, and computer software to resolve moderately complex problems, in a quality system environment.
* Perform non-routine to moderately complex technical tasks, including setup, testing, repairs, inspections, and adjustments to equipment and systems. Troubleshoot and suggest process improvements.
* Present findings to cross-functional teams, write procedures, and support external audits.
* Mentor new team members, communicate effectively, and prioritize daily tasks to meet schedules.
* Solve problems within scope, maintain confidentiality, and work under general supervision with some detailed instructions.
