We are currently recruiting for a Facilities Engineer to join our medical device client's team in Galway on a two year contract.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage maintenance of electrical infrastructure using the site CMMS with coordination across teams.
2. Oversee Life Safety Systems (fire detection, suppression, emergency lighting) and security systems, working with vendors and internal teams.
3. Administer the security access control system, approving all access changes.
4. Lead electrical infrastructure change requests and ensure updates are captured in the CMMS and record drawings.
5. Support asset management and conduct annual equipment condition assessments.
6. Plan and oversee facility upgrades, reconfigurations, and maintenance projects.
7. Coordinate with engineering and architectural partners to develop layouts, designs, and specifications.
8. Prepare and manage bids, contracts, and project cost estimates, ensuring construction aligns with approved plans and schedules.
Requirements:
9. Bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field.
10. 4+ years of relevant experience in R&D, systems, or technology implementation.
11. Strong technical expertise and ability to solve complex problems independently.
12. Experience managing projects from design to implementation.
13. Proven ability to mentor or guide junior colleagues.
14. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders.
15. Track record of identifying process or system improvements.
