DWF's Dublin Global Risks team is seeking an
Associate
or
Senior Associate
(3–8 PQE) to join its market-leading global risks and financial lines litigation practice, working closely with London and international colleagues.
The role arises due to continued growth of the
Global Risks & Financial Lines
team during an exciting time at DWF Ireland.
The role is aligned to the firm's Global Risks platform, with a focus on complex litigation issues, London-market insurers and reinsurers, and high-value contentious claims.
The Dublin Global Risks team works closely with colleagues in London and internationally on complex disputes.
The ideal candidate will be based in our
Dublin office
, and have experience in complex litigation, with exposure to or a strong interest in insurance and financial lines work.
Candidates from top-tier commercial litigation practices or the Bar will be strongly considered.
Hybrid working is available, subject to client and court demands.
Responsibilities
This role represents an exceptional opportunity to join a growing and high-performing
Global Risks
team during a period of strategic expansion and get exposure to a wide range of complex matters, both international and domestic.
The work is diverse, involving claims across a range of complex litigation, insurance/reinsurance policy types, including
Specialty, Financial Lines, Directors & Officers (D&O), Warranty & Indemnity, Cyber, BI/property
and more, and under primary layer, excess layer and reinsurance programs.
The work includes advising on all stages of the claims cycle from advising on policy coverage to litigating or arbitrating disputes.
Our work spans numerous jurisdictions, and our team is an important part of our global network.
Strong litigators without a traditional insurance background, but with the capability and appetite to develop insurance and coverage expertise, are actively encouraged to apply.
Our client list is prestigious and growing.
Clients include Dublin, London Market and major household name insurers as well as commercial clients.
We also advise prestigious corporate clients, either through insurance work or directly.
Senior Associates will be expected to take responsibility for running matters day-to-day, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to client relationships.
What will help you succeed in this role?
Qualified solicitor, or similar qualification, with experience in one or more of the following areas:
Complex litigation, Specialty, Contingency, Marine, Energy, Directors & Officers, Warranty & Indemnity, Cyber, BI/property
and more.
We are looking for an ambitious lawyer with excellent technical and interpersonal skills to work in a growing and dynamic team.
Experience in advising on all stages of the claims cycle from advising on policy coverage to litigating or arbitrating disputes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The desire to deliver a top client service across a range of sectors.
The desire to develop lasting relationships with clients and be a long-term member of an established and forward-thinking team.
