Part-Time Clerical Officer - Healthcare Department
We are currently seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Clerical Officer to join a busy healthcare department based in Cork City.
This is a part-time role, working 18.5 hours per week, specifically on Mondays, Tuesdays, and every second Wednesday.
The position offers an hourly rate of €16.87 and is for an Immediate start.
3 month contract
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide general office administration support to the department.
- Monitor and review patients flagged for upcoming admissions and day cases; communicate relevant information via email to the appropriate teams.
- Manage and maintain departmental documentation in line with established protocols and policies.
- Facilitate communication between departments to ensure smooth coordination of activities.
- Organise and schedule staff training sessions, and maintain up-to-date individual training records.
- Record, collate, and report monthly results using medical audit systems; share outcomes with clinical teams.
- Support data entry, management, and analysis functions within the department.
- Maintain departmental databases accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with liaison and communications with GPs and other healthcare professionals.
- Book venues for departmental meetings and manage associated logistics, including taking and distributing minutes.
Candidate Requirements:
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with data entry or medical audit systems is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or clinical setting is an advantage.
