Business Development Manager

This role offers the opportunity to manage and lead a high-performing team to drive excellent customer relationships, revenue growth, and retention of our existing SME customer base across all product lines.

We are looking for an experienced sales leader with at least 5 years of sales experience, including 3 years in sales management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving business growth, managing teams, and developing strong commercial awareness and business acumen.


Key Responsibilities:

* Manage and lead a high-performing Business Account Management team to drive excellent customer relationships, revenue growth, and retention of our existing SME customer base across all product lines.
* Work with the SME Retention & In Life Manager to set, manage, and exceed individual and team targets.
* Lead the Account Management team in line with company objectives.
* Plan, organize, and implement sales strategies to achieve business goals against dynamic targets.
* Support the development and execution of the overall SME strategy.
* Collaborate with our 3CS/IOT department to drive growth and exceed yearly budgets.
* Lead by example to develop a partnership approach with our customers and act as a point of contact for any complaints.
* Build and maintain strategic relationships with larger customers, engaging directly with C-level executives.
* Ensure sales commission models are compliant and aligned with business strategy.
* Increase and maintain the productivity of the Business Account Management sales teams through Salesforce reporting and insights.
* Adopt a data-centric approach to managing the customer base, focusing on re-signing and growth.
* Recruit, lead, challenge, and develop a team of Business Account Managers.
* Manage day-to-day operations of the team, including customer escalations, absenteeism, and performance management.
* Build processes to support the team, including the use of new technologies.
* Drive customer satisfaction and collaborate with Business Care to enhance the customer experience.
* Embed a high-performance coaching culture within your team.
* Work with L&D to provide ongoing benchmarking and training.
* Collaborate with Marketing, Product, and Base Management teams to feedback market and competitor insights.
* Develop action plans to improve employee engagement and satisfaction.
* Conduct regular sales meetings and one-on-ones with team members.
* Report on team progress against targets daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

* At least 5 years of sales experience, including 3 years in sales management.
* Experience working with large medium/enterprise customers.
* Previous management experience, including setting objectives and performance coaching.
* Proven results in previous roles, overcoming obstacles.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
* Sales planning skills.
* Ability to build relationships at a C-suite level internally and externally.
* Proactive, with good initiative.
* Excellent coaching skills.
* Energetic and mature, capable of driving inter-departmental teams.
* Tenacious and creative problem solver.
* Results-driven, customer-focused.
* Excellent influencing skills and relationship-building at all levels.
* Change management capability and continuous improvement mindset.
