Senior Grid Manager
TRS Staffing Solutions offers a Senior Grid Manager to lead the creation, socialisation, and delivery of the grid strategy across a renewable energy portfolio.
In this role, you will actively manage all aspects of grid operations across our portfolio, including connection applications, delivery, commissioning, and optimisation.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement grid asset strategies in collaboration with internal teams.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of grid and regulatory developments, contributing to consultation responses and industry forums as a subject matter expert.
Interpret technical grid policies in the UK and Ireland to identify opportunities for new and existing projects.
Represent the business in engagements with Transmission System Operators (TSO), Distribution System Operators (DSO), and key industry bodies.
Identify suitable opportunities for grid location and technology solutions.
Work closely with project teams to scope, assess, and negotiate technical and commercial aspects of grid-related projects (thermal generation, solar, turbines, BESS).
Provide assumptions for project value drivers, including network connection and operational costs, losses, constraints, and curtailment.
Conduct due diligence on potential investment opportunities in collaboration with subject matter experts across the business.
Your Profile
Strong knowledge of UK and Ireland grid connections, testing, and compliance processes.
Experience managing and optimising grid connection processes from site selection through to commercial operation.
Understanding of grid-related value drivers (constraints, curtailments, firmness, TLAFs, etc.).
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines, while collaborating effectively with team members.
Experience engaging with stakeholders such as TSOs, DSOs, equipment manufacturers, and electrical contractors.
Familiarity with site feasibility assessments and Grid Code requirements for various project types (thermal, renewable, solar, flexible demand).
Knowledge of power markets and project value drivers is an advantage.
