EHS Manager / Project Manager
Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced EHS professional to join a dynamic construction environment supporting multiple live projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving best‑class health, safety, environmental, and sustainability standards while promoting a strong culture of compliance and continuous improvement across all sites.
This position is ideally suited to a proactive and solutions‑focused individual with strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to influence teams at all levels. Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental legislation, and internal procedures.
Prepare, review, and update risk assessments and method statements to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and training sessions to employees and subcontractors to promote a positive safety culture.
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, producing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
Monitor site compliance regarding PPE, signage, emergency procedures, and safe systems of work.
Support the implementation and ongoing management of Construction Health & Safety Plans across multiple projects.
Ensure adherence to company policies, industry standards, and relevant HSE legislation.
Assist with environmental and sustainability initiatives, including waste management, pollution prevention, and ESG‑related activities.
Maintain accurate HSE documentation including permits, inspections, audits, and incident records.
Key Requirements
Strong knowledge of EHS legislation, hazard identification, and risk assessment processes.
Experience conducting incident investigations and analysing safety performance data.
Familiarity with ISO management systems including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Ability to engage effectively with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders at all levels.
Excellent organisational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Flexible and adaptable approach with a strong commitment to continuous improvement and safety excellence.
Qualifications & Experience
Level 8 qualification or higher in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
Previous experience in an EHS role within the construction industry is desirable.
NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent qualification would be advantageous.
Working knowledge of HSE management systems and compliance auditing.
Understanding of construction safety regulations and environmental legislation.
Keen interest in professional development within health, safety, and environmental management.
