We are recruiting a Production Supervisor in Galway City for a leading medical device manufacturer at the forefront of innovation and operational excellence.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Supervisor to take ownership of a high-performing production team in Galway.
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will play a key role in driving output, performance, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.
Main Responsibilities
* Promote compliance with Health & Safety regulations
* Responsible for output, labour efficiency and quality metrics
* Review throughput and implementation of lean principles in line with continuous improvement objectives
* Focus on managing positive employee relations and developing team versatility
* Ensure scheduled Skill and Procedure training is carried out on time, evaluate effectiveness and maintain all associated records
* Ensure manufacturing-volume requirements are met, On Time in Full, within budget and with the correct schedule mix
Key Performance Indicators
* Effectively manage employee performance, including coaching, counselling, developing and monitoring employees and taking the appropriate performance management action where required
* Facilitate open two-way communications regarding individual, team and company objectives and performance through weekly team meetings and daily interaction on the line
* Develop Operational plans in conjunction with the Business Unit Leader to ensure alignment with overall Site and Operations functions strategy
* Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports the Quality Policy, Quality System and the appropriate regulations for the area they support
* Ensure employees are trained to do their work and their training is documented
* Administrative duties which include updating metrics, Time and Attendance system, Holiday planning etc
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Diploma/Certificate in a relevant technical or business discipline (or equivalent experience)
* 23+ years of supervisory or inspection experience in a regulated manufacturing environment
* Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and lean principles
* Experience driving output, quality, and labour efficiency targets
* Confident in coaching, performance management, and employee development
* Comfortable with data-driven decision making and KPI tracking
* Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills
* Advanced MS Office skills, including Excel, Word, and Power Point
* Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic, high-volume setting
