Overview of Role
The client requires a Senior Database Administrator to support their Business Intelligence, Data Analytics & Data Management Unit. The role emphasises Oracle database administration, optimisation, automation of ETL routines, data quality enhancement, and contributing to data warehouse/lake development.
Role & Responsibilities:
 * Administer, maintain, and optimise Oracle databases (versions 11g through 21c)
 * Manage database replication, backup policies, security, performance tuning, and data cleansing
 * Automate ETL routines and reporting processes
 * Enhance data quality, security, and integrated support for open-source tools and platforms
 * Contribute to the development of data warehouse/data lake environments
 * Perform installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching of Oracle on Linux/Unix
 * Manage backup, recovery, and high availability solutions including RMAN and Data Guard
 * Monitor and proactively maintain database health, perform capacity planning, and automate tasks
 * Support integration with OCI, JDBC, ODBC, and ETL tools like Oracle Data Integrator
 * Use cloud technologies such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and hybrid cloud solutions
 * Use Oracle tools and scripting languages for database management and deployment automation
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
 * Deep expertise in Oracle RDBMS architecture, PL/SQL development, and data modelling
 * Strong knowledge of backup/recovery strategies, performance tuning, and security compliance (GDPR, HIPAA)
 * Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, high availability setups, and version control/CI-CD pipelines
Experience:
 * Minimum 7 years in senior Oracle DB administration roles
 * Hands-on experience with Oracle database upgrades, patching, and ASM/Grid Infrastructure
 * Proven history with performance tuning, disaster recovery, and automation of DBA tasks
Education & Certifications:
 * Relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
 * Oracle certification(s) preferred (e.g., OCP, OCA)
