Diversity is our secret weapon – it's the sheer breadth of Walkers people that makes us who we are – gathered from across the globe and fluent in languages, jurisdictions and cultures that help us to mirror our clients and keep our own thinking in tune with the world in which we operate.Overview Of RoleDuties, Responsibilities & Person SpecificationTo work as part of a team delivering legal secretarial services to a high standard and often under pressure.To provide general secretarial and administrative support to the partners and their team including (without limitation):To implement and maintain the lawyers' billing and collections system, including drafting invoice narrativesArranging the opening, closing and archiving of accounts and filesOpening and adding matters onto appropriate systemMaintaining and keeping a record of business-development activities of the lawyers and assisting with travel and accommodation arrangementsRunning conflict searches in relation to new file openings and all know-your-customer (KYC) mattersBooking meetings and diary managementFamiliarisation and compliance with the Firm's house style for documentationCreating, amending and preparing legal documentsRedacting, editing, amending and storing of correspondence and documents in the appropriate electronic matter file, including the preparation of "blacklined" documentsResponding to internal and external telephone enquiries, and ensuring that every call is attended to in a professional and polite mannerPhotocopying and scanning of documents and correspondenceMaintaining and updating details of client contacts and addresses both within the Lawyers' personal contact database and the Firm's database, Interaction and other relevant applicationsSupporting other members of the secretarial team and work collaboratively with them to complete work to a high standard and meet required deadlinesProviding cover for other secretaries within the team during times of absence, as requiredTo maintain accurate records and correspondence files in relation to the Lawyers' client filesTo liaise with clients as appropriate and in accordance with Lawyers' instructions and firm policiesTo be familiar with, and comply with, Firm policies relevant to the purpose of the jobTo participate in special projects as and when required in relation to the Firm's and the Lawyers' practice areasTo carry out any other duties commensurate with the purpose of the job, including the performance of duties outside normal working hoursThis is a permanent, full time position and we can offer hybrid working arrangements where suitable.Education, Skills & ExperienceTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
