Overview:An international organisation with a strong operational footprint across Ireland, the UK, Europe, and North America is seeking a Financial Controller to lead the day-to-day activities of its finance function. Reporting to the Finance Director and working with the Head of Finance, this is a key leadership role with responsibility for financial control, reporting, and team management within a fast-paced, evolving business environment.Purpose of the Role:To ensure the integrity of financial operations by overseeing all aspects of monthly reporting, compliance, and financial control. The successful candidate will lead a large finance team, partner with senior business stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement across systems and processes.Key Responsibilities:Manage the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate reportingReview and consolidate balance sheet reconciliations and P&L performanceWork with finance leadership on strategic projects and system upgradesAnalyse financial results, identify trends, and present insights to senior leadershipSupport annual budgeting, forecasting, and working capital initiativesLead and develop a team of finance professionals across AP, AR, and GL functionsEnsure compliance with all statutory, tax, and audit requirementsImplement and maintain robust financial controls and governance frameworksDrive improvements in systems, reporting tools, and finance processesAct as a key point of contact for external auditors and Group FinanceCandidate Requirements:Fully qualified accountant (ACA preferred) with 5+ years PQEMinimum of 3 years’ experience in a Financial Controller or similar senior finance roleProven experience managing and mentoring a large finance teamStrong technical accounting and financial reporting expertiseExcellent stakeholder engagement and communication skillsAdvanced Excel capabilities and strong systems knowledgeSolid understanding of Irish and UK tax regulationsComfortable operating in a deadline-driven, change-oriented environmentIdeal Candidate:The ideal candidate is a commercially minded finance leader with a hands-on approach and a strong control mindset. They are comfortable managing competing priorities, developing high-performing teams, and influencing senior stakeholders across the organisation.
