Overview
The Senior Engineer manages the engineering function as the senior representative, co-ordinates with the line manager and provides Engineering Leadership for their respective project(s).
Sets the strategy for Engineering setting out and onsite control, along with the Engineer/Assistant Engineer and subordinates/supply chain.
Is the primary point of reference for QA, record keeping and production ensuring the establishment and maintenance of the Sisk Quality procedures and requirements.
Also takes responsibility for Temporary Works Control/Co-ordination and, where required, actively manages lifting operations.
Responsibilities
Manage and lead the Engineering Project team
Understand key tolerances and analyze details across several interfaces to highlight potential problems
Competent in the principles of quality control for packages.
Review and create Inspection & Test Plans and display advanced knowledge of key packages such as concrete, drainage, external works, steelwork, flooring, facades and cleanrooms
Have a good awareness of the project specifications, especially tolerances for vertical and horizontal structural elements
Control the components of the Sisk Non-Conformance procedure, create and close out Non-Conformances, understand the cost of defects and remedial works, and close out NCRs in a timely manner
Knowledge and awareness of permit systems
Review and create method statements and risk assessments
Identify missing information and possess an excellent working knowledge of the project RFI process, including technical submittals
Awareness of lifting operations / appointment person trained
Awareness of temporary works – TWC/TWS trained
Control and lead site meetings
Client interface experience
Design team coordination experience
Experience
Fully competent in understanding the dangers of underground services and the required risk control procedures
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Competent in the use of digital information systems (e.g., A-Site, Dalux, Viewpoint for Projects)
Significant experience in the design management process
Broad range of technical exposure, including Pharmaceutical CSA and ME
Qualifications
Eng Civil Engineering
Temporary Works Coordinator training
Lifting Operations awareness / Operations Appointed Persons / A61 CPCS Lifting
Scaffold awareness/inspection
Planning & programming software
SMSTS/SSSTS Card (UK), MSIC (Ireland)
