Job Title: Device Technician
Orion Group Life Sciences is currently recruiting a Device Technician on behalf of our multinational biopharmaceutical client based in Sligo. This is an initial 6-month contract with the potential for extension.
Shift Information: The department operates on evening and night shifts, so flexibility to move to different shifts is preferable.
* Evening shift: 16:00 - 00:00 (Friday finish at 23:00), with a 16.7% shift premium.
* Night shift: 00:00 - 08:00 (Friday finish at 07:00), with a 27% shift premium.
Job Summary: To work as a team member in production and operations areas, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and organizational standards. Responsibilities include preparing equipment, work areas, and materials, and verifying the readiness of manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare and operate moulding, automated assembly, Pad Printing, manual assembly, and ancillary equipment.
* Troubleshoot manufacturing issues impacting efficiency, safety, or quality.
* Complete quality checks and meet production quality targets.
* Supply materials to operations and equipment safely and timely.
* Label and pack components and finished products.
* Operate metrology equipment, including coordinate measuring systems and advanced technology like robotic and vision systems.
* Participate in projects related to new product introduction and process improvements.
* Reset equipment to ensure quality manufacturing.
* Coordinate team activities to maximize effectiveness.
* Document all activities in compliance with GMP standards.
* Cross-train team members and train new staff.
* Engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
* Execute manufacturing documentation, commissioning, and validation protocols regularly.
* Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, GMP, and safety policies and legislation.
* Work independently and perform manual assembly and visual inspections as needed.
Qualifications:
* Leaving Certificate or equivalent, or relevant work experience.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is beneficial.
Desired Education: Third-level education is preferred.
Experience:
* Minimum 1 year of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment required.
