Job Description * This is an evolving and developing role so responsibilities may change over time. Flexibility to support the changing business will be important. Group Technology Service (GTS) Service Delivery plays a critical role in enabling An Post's strategic objectives, supporting innovation, improving operational efficiency, and delivering secure, scalable solutions that power our transformation journey. To strengthen this capability we are seeking a Cloud Administrator to join the Platform Technologies team to ensure the smooth and reliable operation of our Microsoft Azure environment. As a member of the Platform Technologies Azure Cloud Engineering team, the Cloud Administrator will be responsible for the development and maintenance of infrastructure services across An Post's hybrid and public cloud estate. You will work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to manage resources, and implement best practices. Responsibilities The main responsibilities associated with the role include, but are not limited to the following: Day to day management and maintenance of Cloud infrastructure resources (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS) in accordance with An Post's Cloud Adoption Framework and best practice Manage the full lifecycle of incidents and problems, taking ownership from identification through resolution. Ensure timely escalation when necessary, keeping all stakeholders informed throughout the process. Work collaboratively with colleagues and other technical teams to support projects and manage incidents. Support in the planning and delivery of both native and hybrid cloud systems Automate and drive process improvement across the cloud environment. Engage in continuous learning across the technology stacks, evaluate and provide recommendations on new solutions Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation. Demonstrate An Post Values and behaviours in your day-to-day work and address behaviour that supports/conflicts with them. Qualifications At least 2 years' experience in a support or related position is essential. Comprehensive technical knowledge, and understanding of Operating Systems and Infrastructure administration. Understanding of foundational Azure concepts such as Azure Networking, Virtual Machines and M365 services. Knowledge of Directory Services, including both on-premises Active Directory and Entra ID, is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, in both verbal and written forms. Proven ability to create clear and concise documentation. Capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team. Appointment There will be a six-month probationary period and process in place for those appointed to the above position. Should a successful applicant fail to achieve the standards expected at any stage during the probationary period, there will be early, effective intervention designed to enable them to reach and maintain acceptable standards of performance. However, should they fail to reach and maintain these standards following this intervention; they will revert to their previous grading/position and to the salary point they would have reached if they had continued in that grade provided the record of service during your period in the position now advertised was satisfactory from the point of view of conduct.
