Title: Mechanical Construction Manager ( Piping Systems)
Location: Athlone, (Permanent, Full-Time)
Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager with a background in piping systems installation to lead a major mechanical engineering project in the Athlone area. This is a full-time, permanent position ideal for someone looking to work in a dynamic, quality-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and coordinate all daily mechanical construction activities on-site.
* Develop and execute cost-effective construction plans, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
* Manage scope, fabrication, and pre-commissioning in line with project timelines.
* Report project progress, risks, and opportunities to the Project Manager.
* Ensure all specification and scope changes are documented.
* Enforce strict adherence to EHS and quality standards.
* Lead site-based mechanical construction and design processes.
* Handle resource planning, including materials, labour, and subcontractors.
* Resolve mechanical snags efficiently for smooth project handover.
* Maintain clear communication with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
* Trade or degree qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
* 5+ years’ experience in the construction or M&E sector.
* Background with M&E contractors in Ireland or the UK, preferably in industrial/pharma projects.
* Solid understanding of MEP systems, HVAC, and building services.
* Strong experience with piping system installation is highly desirable.
* Proven leadership in managing teams and construction programs.
* Excellent communication and documentation skills.
