Credit Risk Analyst – Macquarie Group
Join us as a Credit Risk Analyst in Dublin, where you will support the development of trading and lending desks within the Commodities and Global Markets division in EMEA.
Our team assesses innovative hedging/lending solutions across various business models, including commodity product trading (primarily gas, power, oil, metals, agricultural and environmental certificates via over-the-counter and Futures), as well as fixed income, specialised lending and asset finance products. Though Macquarie offers hybrid working for many of our roles, this role requires 3 days a week on-site.
At Macquarie we bring together diverse people and empower them to shape possibilities. We are a global financial services group operating in 31 markets with 56 years of unbroken profitability, and you’ll be part of a friendly, supportive team where everyone contributes ideas and drives outcomes.
What role will you play?
As a Credit Risk Analyst, you will manage the credit risk for a diverse portfolio of European clients—including utilities, trading houses, funds, mid‑large corporates, and football clubs. You will conduct in‑depth quantitative and qualitative credit assessments, prepare detailed written analyses and recommendations, set internal ratings, propose credit limits, and participate in the annual portfolio credit review processes. You will collaborate with front office and other stakeholders, provide risk‑based recommendations on new transactions and structures, and undertake regular exposure analysis and risk monitoring. In addition, you will be involved in developing, implementing and reviewing credit policies/frameworks and other portfolio‑management activities.
What you offer
2‑4 years of relevant experience in credit‑risk roles, ideally from a financial institution, commodity trading house, fund manager, or rating agency.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with risk colleagues and front‑office stakeholders.
Strong foundation in financial analysis, with an understanding of evaluating company financial statements to determine creditworthiness.
Ability to identify and evaluate key risks of structured transactions and potential challenges.
Familiarity with over‑the‑counter derivatives and futures products and an understanding of related credit exposure.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in a fast‑paced capital‑markets and trading environment.
