EIA Lead - Renewable Energy Projects
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Lead to join our team. As EIA Lead, you will be responsible for leading the EIA process for large-scale renewable energy projects, including preparing Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIAR) and Appropriate Assessment/Natura Impact Statements (AA/NIS).
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in delivering EIS/EIAR and AA/NIS documentation for major development projects and a strong understanding of EIA processes, Irish planning policy, and environmental legislation. You will also have experience leading and managing multidisciplinary teams on EIA projects and a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects with varying priorities, risks, and timelines.
Responsibilities include:
* Leading the EIA process for large-scale renewable energy projects, including preparing EIAR and AA/NIS.
* Providing expert environmental guidance to support the Planning Team and contributing to the Renewable Energy Business Unit Strategy.
* Monitoring and assessing updates to planning and environmental legislation, policies, and development plans.
* Supporting the Stakeholder and Advocacy Team in developing project communication plans and engaging with communities and stakeholders.
* Preparing specifications for third-party services and supporting the procurement process as needed.
* Ensuring full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental policies in all work undertaken.
* Providing mentoring and upskilling support to junior staff.
* Actively participating in the Performance Management process to drive personal and team success.
Requirements:
* A Hons Degree (Level 8 FETAC) in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
* A minimum of 5 years' experience leading the preparation of EIAR and AA/NIS for large-scale projects.
* Proven expertise in delivering EIS/EIAR and AA/NIS documentation for major development projects.
* Experience leading and managing multidisciplinary teams on EIA projects.
* Strong understanding of EIA processes, Irish planning policy, and environmental legislation.
