We currently have a vacancy for a strong, Conference and Banqueting Manager to join the extremely professional, busy team in Glasson Lakehouse, Athlone, Co. Westmeath.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing a high functioning team, have an excellent attitude and be committed to providing a great customer experience for all guests.
Key Responsibilities:
* To assist, motivate & lead the team, ensuring all aspects of tasks are being carried to the highest standard.
* Oversee all aspects of conference and banqueting events held at the hotel.
* Resolve any issues that may arise, such as customer complaints or internal issues with the team.
* Ensure that function rooms are set up correctly (e.g., seating arrangements, AV equipment).
* Coordinate with kitchen, F&B & Sales teams to ensure smooth execution of events
* To train all new and existing staff members on duties such as, Opening, Closing, Menu, Floor training, Standards, Operation
* Resolve any issues that may arise including staff issues such as cover for sick staff members.
* Control costs and minimise waste
* Provide training & support to the team to ensure the department is being run to Brand Standard
* Comply with all company policies and procedures
* Carry yourself at all times with the highest degree of professionalism
Key skills:
* Fluent English
* Previous experience working in events management and F and B service essential
* Previous experience working weddings and events in a high volume busy venue desired
* A passion for weddings and events
* The ability to think quickly and react to emerging situations quickly
* Strong people management skills and ability to get buy-in from a large team
* Competent employee relations experience
* Excellent presentation
* Ability to work both as a team and alone
* Outgoing and friendly
* Good humoured
* Ability to work under pressure
* Self motivated
* Capable of working flexible hours and late nights
