Responsible for the design, development, commissioning, and continuous improvement of automated systems in line with global engineering standards, supporting automation projects across international manufacturing sites.
Global Automation Engineer
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, commission, and upgrade automated systems globally.
Provide automation and controls support to panel plants and production lines worldwide.
Commission new and upgraded equipment on production lines.
Support continuous improvement and value-added initiatives.
Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Safety teams to meet plant objectives.
Contribute to the delivery of the global annual automation project roadmap.
Mentor junior Automation Engineers and support their development.
Assist in the development and implementation of global electrical and controls standards.
Maintain safe working practices at all times.
Maintain accurate technical documentation and SOPs.
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 50001, CE marking, and ISO 37301 requirements.
Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or automation environment.
Strong PLC expertise, ideally Siemens S7-300/400 and TIA Portal.
Working knowledge of motion control systems (Siemens Simotion/Sinamics or equivalent).
Experience with SCADA and line reporting systems, preferably Siemens WinCC.
Experience with industrial networks (Industrial Ethernet, Profibus, Profinet).
Experience designing and installing electrical control systems.
