Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced project leader to oversee the delivery of complex highways and infrastructure projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading multidisciplinary teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. You will also be responsible for managing client relationships, overseeing communications across assigned projects, and mentoring junior team members.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, including national road schemes, greenway, and active travel initiatives. You will be working closely with our engineering discipline leads and technicians to plan and oversee design work. Your technical expertise and leadership skills will be essential in ensuring the successful delivery of these projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* A degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline, with Chartered Engineer status
* A minimum of 15 years post-graduate experience in the design and project management of highways, greenway, and active travel schemes
* Proven track record in managing multi-disciplinary design teams
* Strong experience in liaising with clients, external stakeholders, and sub-consultants
* Demonstrated ability to develop and manage project budgets

Key Responsibilities
1. Leading multidisciplinary design teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards
2. Managing a portfolio of projects, including maintaining strong client relationships and overseeing communications across assigned projects
3. Mentoring and managing more junior Project Managers within the Highways and Active Travel Sector
4. Supervising and guiding both senior and junior team members within the Highways and Active Travel Sector
5. Planning and overseeing design work in collaboration with Engineering Discipline Leads and Technicians
6. Preparing technical reports and tender documentation
7. Coordinating effectively with other members of the project and wider infrastructure team
8. Ensuring adherence to quality assurance procedures, and management systems, and all relevant health and safety legislation
