Overview
The role is responsible for leading the Agro Quality Assurance agenda and managing compliance with applicable PepsiCo Agricultural standards in procurement, handling, transportation, and storage of Agro raw materials. The role also involves managing agro product quality and coordinating effectively with all stakeholders (Agro, Production, Farmers, and Storage) to align and execute action plans for improvement. Additionally, this role manages the potato lab shifts concerning workforce, materials, and methods.
Responsibilities
1. Lead the Agro crops quality monitoring system through YSI trend analysis on potato crops from sowing to consumption, coordinating with field Agro staff.
2. Implement the PepsiCo Agro lab project in the field for chip stock potato, potato seed, and corn purchasing seasons.
3. Lead capability development for Agro and QA staff on potato testing, storage, and transportation.
4. Manage timely testing and decision-making regarding potatoes and materials received at the site.
5. Monitor potato quality strategically in stores to ensure extended usability.
6. Plan and execute the Agro SQA agenda, considering the significant number of farmers involved.
7. Ensure best practices in storage through planned and unplanned audits of cold stores.
8. Regularly sample stored potatoes using YSI and mini-frying methods to assess overall quality and make consumption decisions based on defect levels.
9. Coordinate effectively with R&D and supply chain teams on raw material development projects.
10. Track farmer performance and conduct meetings to address material quality issues and plan improvements.
11. Liaise with the Agro field team to address quality challenges for potatoes and corn during the growing season.
12. Drive the capability agenda of farmers and staff on Agro commodity handling practices to minimize post-harvest losses.
13. Monitor and track the Agro QA budget against the plan.
14. Manage potato lab operations during shifts, ensuring smooth functioning.
15. Coordinate with Cold Storage, Process, and Operations QA teams regarding potato testing, results sharing, and uninterrupted production.
16. Implement quality and food safety standards in the potato lab.
17. Ensure reproducible testing results with proper data recording.
Qualifications
Knowledge / Skills:
* Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology, Agronomy, or Horticulture.
* Good knowledge of material testing and quality assessment.
* Knowledge of quality and food safety standards.
Experience:
2-4 years with FMCG companies.
