About the Role
The Senior Safety Advisor will lead and support the implementation of the company's HSEQ systems across commercial and residential civil engineering projects. The role requires a strong site presence and the ability to influence project teams and subcontractors to ensure all works are delivered safely, legally and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support Health & Safety management across commercial and residential projects
* Promote a strong safety culture and provide expert advice to project and site teams
* Ensure compliance with all relevant H&S legislation, client requirements and company procedures
* Review and approve Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
* Carry out regular site inspections, audits and safety walks
* Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses, implementing corrective actions
* Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks and workforce engagement initiatives
* Monitor subcontractor safety performance and compliance
* Liaise with clients, consultants and regulatory authorities as required
* Prepare H&S reports, statistics and KPIs for management review
Requirements
* Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline
* Recognised professional qualification (e.g. NEBOSH Diploma / Grad IOSH or equivalent)
* 5+ years' experience in construction or civil engineering safety
* Strong knowledge of construction health & safety legislation
* Proven experience on commercial and/or residential projects.
