Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to develop and implement holistic psychological interventions that meet individual service-users' needs by providing direct support and guidance to service-users and staff alike.

* This requires a Relevant Master's and/or Doctorate level, professional qualification in Psychology recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland.
* Chartered membership (or eligible for) with the Psychological Society of Ireland or Chartered membership (or eligible for) of the British Psychological Society would be beneficial.
* At least 3 years work experience in the field of Learning Disability/Autism/Mental Health/Physical or Sensory Disability is required.

An understanding of the Recovery Approach and of Person-Centred Planning would be advantageous.


Your Responsibilities

1. You will support students/service users and staff to identify personal goals and learning, social, emotional, cognitive needs through effective planning strategies.
2. Prepare students/service users for Individual Action Plan (IAP) or Person-Centred Planning meetings by guiding them on how to set achievable goals.
3. Contribute to intake assessments by providing valuable insights into the service-users' needs.
4. You will undertake appropriate psychological assessments using data from psychological tests, self-report measures, direct and indirect observations and interviews with students/service users and other stakeholders where necessary.
5. Summarise the results of clinical assessments in professional and accessible reports in line with professional standards and the intended audience.
6. You will design and implement high-quality, formulation-driven psychological interventions, therapies and supports based on established evidence-based practice and Rehab Groups commitment to the principles of recovery, co-production, equality, diversity, dignity and respect.
7. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of psychological interventions and make adjustments as necessary.
8. Present recommendations in a professional and accessible manner in line with professional standards and the intended audience.
9. You will be aware of and refer students/service users to other external clinical services when necessary.
10. Develop and work within a stepped care model including inter-agency work and service delivery.
11. Provide regular consultation and guidance to staff to help them deliver high-quality support in line with best practice.
12. Design and deliver training to staff to support good practice e.g., in the areas of mental health, education, rehabilitation etc.
