Associate Director of Strategic Procurement
12 Month Fixed Term Contract
Location: Dublin — Remote/Hybrid processes, based in Ireland.
A global pharmaceutical organisation is seeking an experienced Associate Director of Sourcing to join their Commercial Supply Chain team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role will be instrumental in leading strategic sourcing and supplier management across external manufacturing, covering Drug Substance, Drug Product, and Packaging categories.
My client is looking for someone who can hit the ground running, bringing deep expertise in sourcing and supplier relationship management at a global or regional level, ideally within the life sciences or FMCG sector. Prior pharmaceutical industry experience is a strong advantage.
Responsibilities
* Develop and execute sourcing strategies for direct contract manufacturing across API, Drug Product, and Packaging.
* Lead cross-functional sourcing projects, partnering with Supply Chain, Procurement, Legal, Quality, Finance, and Technical Operations.
* Drive supplier selection, contract negotiations, and risk mitigation to ensure resilient and competitive supply.
* Align market intelligence with business needs, delivering value-driven outcomes and sustainable supplier relationships.
* Support compliance with global sourcing policies and pharmaceutical regulations, including GMP.
Candidate Profile
* Proven track record in strategic sourcing and supplier management in a complex, global environment.
* 8–10 years experience in life sciences, pharmaceuticals (preferred), or FMCG.
* Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex topics clearly.
* Results-driven, adaptable, and confident in managing competing priorities.
* Degree in business, supply chain or related discipline; postgraduate qualification preferred but not essential.
