Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
* Good customer service skills
Preferred:
* Home care experience
* CPR - Basic Life Support (BLS)
Licenses and Certifications Required:
* Homemaker - HHA certification
* Valid driver's license from a U.S. state
Responsibilities
Provide in-home, para-professional services to care for patients' personal needs under RN supervision.
* Assist patients with personal care activities such as bathing, showering, skin and hair care, and oral hygiene, following safety precautions and care plans.
* Report any changes in patient condition to the RN promptly and document appropriately.
* Complete all required documentation accurately and in accordance with organizational protocols.
* Assist with patient transfers, ambulation, and perform range of motion exercises, ensuring safety and proper body mechanics.
* Maintain the patient's environment through general housekeeping and assist with light housekeeping tasks for the family.
* Assist patients with self-administration of medications and remind them when to take medications.
* Prepare simple meals per dietary instructions and assist with eating as needed.
* Assist with Foley catheter and colostomy care, including changing colostomy bags, peri care, and skin assessment around stoma.
* Perform other duties and projects as assigned, demonstrating flexibility in responsibilities.
* Adhere to HMH's organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
* Lift, push, or pull a minimum of 50 lbs. and stand for at least 8 hours a day.
