Director of Finance
to join and lead an international manufacturing firm based in County Cavan,
This role suits and experienced senior finance professional, with a strong background in providing business-wide leadership in a growing manufacturing environment. This is a critical senior role, responsible not only for
robust financial management and forecasting but also for partnering with the leadership team to shape business direction, drive operational excellence, and ensure sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development of financial strategy, budgets, and long-term forecasts aligned to business objectives and market dynamics.
* Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including management accounting, cost control, cashflow, and compliance.
* Provide insight-driven financial analysis supporting decision-making across manufacturing, supply chain, sales, and product innovation.
* Build and present clear financial models, KPIs, and board reports to stakeholders, highlighting risks and opportunities.
* Work with the Operations team to evaluate capex proposals, develop business cases, analyse savings and ROI, and provide support in the procurement process.
* Perform strategic market analysis on possible acquisition targets, prepare business cases and lead the structuring of any deals and post-acquisition integration. Assess funding requirements of the business, manage existing funding relationships and develop new sources of funding where appropriate.
* Drive initiatives to improve profitability through cost efficiencies, margin management, and pricing strategies.
* Act as a business partner to the MD and senior leadership team, guiding overall business planning and investment decisions.
* Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
* Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements.
* Play a key role in broader business leadership, challenging assumptions, contributing to strategic debates, and supporting operational execution.
Qualifications and Experience
* A qualified accountant with at least 10 years' post-qualification experience in a high-growth manufacturing environment.
* Proven track record as a senior finance leader within manufacturing or related sectors.
* Strong understanding of cost accounting, production finance, and working capital management.
* Experience in financial forecasting, scenario planning, and data-driven business intelligence.
* Demonstrated ability to influence at board and executive level, with commercial and operational acumen beyond finance.
* Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and develop multidisciplinary teams.
