Job Description
We are excited to invite applications for the position of Downstream Shift Manager at our new, cutting-edge biotechnology facility. In this role, you will lead a dedicated team to ensure successful batch operations while fostering a culture of quality, safety, learning, and continuous improvement. You will report to the Associate Director of Manufacturing and play a vital role in our manufacturing team.
Bring energy, knowledge, innovation to carry out the following:
* Mentor and Lead: Guide a team of biotech associates in the production of biologic drug substances, overseeing daily shift operations.
* Technical Liaison: Serve as the key technical contact for the shift team, facilitating communication and collaboration.
* Patient Focus: Uphold our commitment to safety and quality, ensuring we deliver the best outcomes for patients.
* Problem Solving: Troubleshoot issues and lead self-directed work teams to enhance operational efficiency.
* Coaching: Provide mentorship on specific unit operations to support team development.
* Project Guidance: Oversee approved projects and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with our site strategies.
* People Leadership: Manage and support your direct reports in their professional growth.
What skills you will need:
In order to excel in this role, you will more than likely have:
* A degree in a technical, engineering, or science-based discipline; a master’s degree is preferred, along with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
* Proven leadership skills with a track record of developing and mentoring teams to achieve exceptional results.
* Experience working collaboratively across functions, with a focus on meeting schedules and fostering an interdependent work culture.
* Strong understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices and technical operations in the biotechnology field.
* Ability to think critically and remain proactive under pressure.
