As a Senior Site Engineer, you'll play a key role in the successful delivery of civil infrastructure and utility projects. You will: Lead site engineering activities and act as the main technical advisor on-site for subcontractors, craftspeople, and operatives. Oversee all setting out and surveying work, using total stations, GPS, AutoCAD, and other digital tools to ensure accurate positioning and measurements. Plan and manage daily site operations, ensuring works are delivered to specification, on schedule, and within budget. Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting toolbox talks, risk assessments, and maintaining high standards of site safety and housekeeping. Coordinate with project managers, clients, consultants, and design teams to resolve technical queries and deliver seamless project execution. Manage site records and documentation, including method statements, permits, site diaries, QA/QC checklists, and progress reports. Mentor and support junior engineers and site staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance site culture. Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors, reviewing plans, inspecting materials, and ensuring all parties are aligned with project goals. Contribute to project planning and progress meetings, offering engineering insight to improve productivity and quality. Requirements: 5+ years of experience in civil engineering or utility projects (e.g. water, energy, telecoms). Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline. Proficiency in setting out and surveying techniques with GPS/Total Station and AutoCAD. Strong understanding of Irish construction and health & safety regulations. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Excellent leadership, organisation, and problem-solving skills. Full driving licence and flexibility to travel between sites.
