This innovative team specializes in crafting engaging patient-centric clinical trial communications and materials in multiple media formats spanning patient education, recruitment, retention, and executing comprehensive health literacy strategies.Position Description: The Associate Director, Graphic Design & Animation is a strategic position responsible for shaping the visual communication strategy for clinical trial communications. This role collaborates closely with therapeutically assigned Patient Engagement, Senior Directors and Health Literacy, Associate Directors in support of the overarching patient engagement strategy for the clinical portfolio. This role focuses on strategic direction and needs for engaging, inclusive, and culturally sensitive content that supports the patient engagement strategy across the clinical portfolio. Using expertise in graphic design and animation the Associate Director develops and implements a comprehensive visual communication strategy for patient engagement in clinical trials.Primary Responsibilities:Lead the design and production of high-quality, health literate visual content, including graphics, animations, and multimedia materials tailored to diverse patient populations.Ensure all content is culturally sensitive and inclusive, addressing the needs of underserved and harder-to-reach patient groups.Collaborate within Patient Engagement and with cross-functional teams to identify key priorities and ensure alignment of health literacy initiatives with broader clinical trial objectives.Lead the development and implementation of guidelines and maintaining standards for health literate content creation, ensuring consistency and adherence to best practices.Conduct thorough assessments of investigator and patient communication needs, incorporating feedback from data analysis and behavioral science team work to inform strategy development.Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in graphic design and animation, incorporating innovative techniques into content creation.Continuously evaluate and improve visual communication methods to enhance patient understanding and engagement.Ensure all visual content meets high standards of quality, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.Implement feedback mechanisms to gather insights from patients and stakeholders, using this data to refine and optimize visual materials.Oversee multiple design and animation projects, ensuring timely delivery of impactful visual materials that support clinical trial recruitment, retention, and patient education.Work closely with therapeutically assigned Patient Engagement Senior Directors to integrate visual content into patient engagement strategies.Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles in all aspects of visual content, with a focus on reaching underserved populations and improving access to clinical trial information.Collaborate with regulatory affairs and compliance teams to ensure that all health literate visual content meets regulatory requirements and industry standards.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality, efficiency, and impact of visual health literate content across clinical trial communications.Act as a key liaison with external vendors, agencies, and research partners to ensure alignment with health literacy strategy and objectives.Lead cross-functional working groups or committees focused on advancing health literacy initiatives and promoting knowledge sharing within the organization.Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Visual communications or related discipline.Minimum 5 years experience in graphic design and animation roles dedicated to reaching healthcare consumers, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design expertise.Minimum 3 years of experience leading/managing a key part of portfolio or business process.Experience leading others, including relationship and team building, setting expectations, holding others accountable, and technical coaching.Lilly is dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities to actively engage in the workforce, ensuring equal opportunities when vying for positions.
