Responsibilities
* As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, manage Client’s and Mott MacDonald obligations on various clean and waste water and environmental projects.
* Be part of a Core Team within the Environment and Water Portfolio; work with Advisory Project and Programme management teams to deliver project outcomes to Client expectations.
* Collaborate with client teams to deliver complex projects on time, within budget and to required quality, with a commitment to safety.
* Drive service delivery innovation and provide advice to the team and the integrated client.
* Take ownership of project delivery, identify and monitor risks and opportunities, manage stakeholders with appropriate influence and interests, and ensure good governance.
Required Qualifications
* Quantity Surveying degree or other commercially related discipline, or extensive experience in Programme and Project commercial pre- and post-contract activities, including cost management.
* Ideally Chartered MRICS or working towards chartered status (MRICS); commitment to CPD.
* Experience setting and implementing procurement strategies, running tenders, advising on contract conditions and amendments (NEC focus).
* Strong Commercial and Cost experience with sound financial judgment on high-value matters.
* Experience in commercial management and administration of a wide range of contracts, writing, placing and administering contracts, particularly NEC; experience using CEMAR or similar.
* Cost analysis, due diligence, forecasting, monitoring, reporting, and post-contract management on projects/programmes and D&B contracts.
* Experience building a Commercial and Cost Team with clear roles and accountabilities.
* Strong client and stakeholder relationship skills with effective cross-team communication.
* Excellent IT, written and verbal communication, organizational and analytical skills.
* Flexible in work location; potential travel 2-3 times weekly depending on project.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in water, environment and regulated industries.
* Ability to operate autonomously and within a multi-disciplinary team providing commercial support.
* Experience with electronic measurement systems and other cost/contract management tools.
* Commitment to Sustainability, Environment and Health & Safety.

Mott MacDonald’s Advisory and Programme Delivery (APD) unit delivers project, programme & commercial management (PPCM) services and advisory solutions across the built environment, defence, energy, water, environmental, transportation, health and care sectors. APD delivers services to projects up to £20bn, covering programme management, project management, project controls, scheduling, cost management, estimating, infrastructure finance, management consulting, digital consulting and education, health and care management.
Environment & Water
Our multidisciplinary experts help water, wastewater and government organisations address climate change, net-zero, water scarcity and environmental protection. We work with many of the UK’s regulated water and wastewater companies, covering pre-contract cost estimating and benchmarking through post-contract quantity surveying and commercial assurance. Projects range from small to major programmes worth over £0.5bn.
