Job Description
Ballinamoney Farms ULC are seeking HGV Drivers for their farm located at Ballinamoney, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan. The successful candidate for the role will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of the livestock, animal feed, farm supplies, and agricultural materials to and from the pig farm and associated facilities. The role requires firm compliance with road safety regulations, animal welfare standards, and farm operational procedures overall.
Key Responsibilities
Operate Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) for farm‑related transport activities.
Transport livestock in accordance with animal welfare.
Deliver feed, equipment and supplies to farm locations safely and on schedule at all times.
Carry out multiple daily vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks.
Ensure all vehicles are kept clean and in roadworthy conditions at all times.
Follow health and safety procedures and comply with Irish road transport regulations.
Assist with the loading and unloading of livestock and farm materials when required or requested.
Coordinate with farm management regarding planned delivery schedules and transport requirements.
Report all vehicle defects, accidents or delays promptly to management.
Job Requirements
Valid HGV driving licence appropriate for the vehicle category (C, C1, CE).
Valid Driver CPC certification.
Minimum of 1–3 years’ experience in a similar role.
Good understanding of road safety and transport regulations.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Remuneration: €36,605 per annum based on a 39‑hour week.

Essential
Minimum 2 years of experience.
Minimum Level 4 qualification (including Leaving Certificate, Leaving Certificate Applied, or Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme).

Manual handling competency.
Full C, C1, C1E driving licence.
