Your new role The ideal candidate for the Steel Detailer role will be familiar with a wide range of construction materials, as they will help build a complete digital twin of our modular buildings within the Tekla Structures environment. Full in-house training will be provided on digital modeling and generating/exporting the digital Bill of Materials (BOM) for use by our manufacturing team. Key Responsibilities Create detailed 2D and 3D structural steel drawings using Tekla Structures. Translate architectural and engineering designs into accurate fabrication details. Collaborate with design managers, engineers, and production teams to ensure model precision and resolve design conflicts. Incorporate specifications for materials such as steel grades, fasteners, fixings, and protective coatings into the detailing process. Participate in BIM coordination and clash detection meetings. Apply principles of modular construction and Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) to streamline detailing workflows. Possess a foundational understanding of materials like timber, cladding, windows, and doors What you'll need to succeed To be successful for this role, our client is looking for candidates with: *Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Steel Detailer in construction, manufacturing, or modular building projects. *Proficient in 3D modelling software (preferably Tekla Structures); understanding of digital BOM export processes. In-depth knowledge of construction materials, including structural steel types, bolting systems, welding practices, and finishes. *Strong problem-solving and communication skills, able to relay complex technical information. *Familiarity with repeatable and standardised naming conventions across detailing workflows.
